Default Which Panhard bar is right for me?

I have a 1999 Z28 with rear American Racing TTM's in 17x10.5 and rear Kuhmo's Ecsta Spt 285/40/17 + Strano springs + Koni SA's.

I'd like to buy a Panhard bar but I'm a bit lost with all the choice: single or double adjustable?... Rod ends or poly?... My car is a daily driver, not a racer. Comfort is important. I have no other chassis mod. I'd prefer a panhard bar that's fairly simple to install by myself in my garage. What kind of Panhard bar would you suggest me to get?

$129 for the UMI on the car adjustable PHB. That's the most popular one I sell, and it's the easiest one to setup.

I'd need your postal code again to be able to tell you.... And your name. I remember the order and all, but names escape me.

Sam, is there a gain to be seen by using the chrome-moly over the 'regular' on car adj PHB?

Chrome-Moly always sounds nice in parts, but can it actually be beneficial?
Is there a weight advantage?

Also I see on UMI's sight that the PHB for 129.95 is single rod-end, while the chrome-noly is double rod-end.

Just less and less deflection because you exchange a bushing for a rod-end.... And yes, CM is a bit lighter (about a pound or so).

The reason the "big" one is CM. Let's face it, if you are looking to minimize deflection, you also probably won't hate any less weight. Frankly, they are all I really prefer to use on any car with handling intentions.

A rod/rod D/A one is highly recommended. Little to no increase in harshness at all. Really stiffens up the rear. Good for ANY type of performance application. I made my own for much less than $100. See this thread for more information:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/513475-canyon-carving-street-suspension-setup-review-long.html

Some argue about getting an aluminum PHR, but many people have them, and there are only a few known occurances of them bending. This is usually with huge tires (315s) and advanced suspension setup, in a RACING environment. Casual drivers and performance drivers should have no problems.

I bought an aluminum on-car adjustable phr for my lowered 01. Very nice item but you have me wondering as the car should be producing a little over 500 hp when it's back together.

You should be fine. It's not the hp the engine is making, it the lateral loads you generate when cornering, in a RACING environment, with WIDE tires, that will bend a PHR. It's like the lottery all variables have to fall in place.

UMI DA FTW! The rod/rod ends did not make any difference in road noise. Plus the side hop over bumps is gone. It actually rides better than stock.

I got UMI poly/rod LCA's and a panhard bar last year. Finally got the panhard bar put on this weekend. Couldn't tell the difference at all in the ride of the car but it looks a thousand times better than the crap stamped steel piece, mine was even bent from a little accident a long time ago.

So if you are lowered, get the double adjustable to center the axle. And don't sweat the rod end, I couldn't tell any extra noise.

Double Rod end. Just put mine on saturday. I like it a lot! Rear end is more stable it seems. Very good quality piece.

A+ for Sam
A+ fo UMI
