Default Big brakes, brackets and unsprung weight

So I've been accumulating parts for a C5 brake
swap. One part of which is a pair of the Bishop
brackets, surprisingly heavy.

Those of you who have gone to a bracket
based 13" setup, how do you think the trade
between braking and unsprung weight did for
you? Is there "stuff comes off" that takes
back some of the weight or is it all "bonus"
(negative)?

*IF* you need a bigger heat sink and have tried good pads, lines, rotors, etc. to make the LS1 stuff work and can't then do it. If you don't or haven't, then you adding unsprung weight needlessly. And not only is it unsprung, but also rotational. Those bigger rotors are flywheels too.

Facts are simple. Stock brakes aren't exactly tiny, and work very very well with the proper pads, fluids and discs for most every use.

Thanks, Sam.

I have not yet found the limits of even the stock
system. I'm just what you might call a pathological
modifier. 500 characters is not enough.
