Default ARP Wheel stud length question (need answer ASAP, please)

I'm replacing my wheel studs as we speak, but - the new ARP ones are probably a half inch longer than the stock front studs. Should I trim these down with a dremel? I don't think my lug nuts are quite long enough...anyone able to post up some experience?

When I installed ARP P/N 100-7708 I had the same problems with lugnuts. I couldn't find any acorn style nuts which were deep enough. I stopped looking and reverted to the steel open lugnuts from GM and left off the plastic covers. I did need to cut a ARP wheel stud shorter because the threads got messed up, but I'll be switching it back to full length when I replace my hubs soon.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up cutting them without an issue. Worked fine, and it was nice to be on the road again . One of my stock studs snapped on me and made a nice mess on the rest of the studs/lugnuts (which were some crappy open lugnuts - except to take them off the took went into the open part. They were a BIG problem...). I ended up doing the method where you pull the studs into place with another lugnut, worked like a charm. I should have put some WD40 onto them 1st though, rather than waiting...that made for some unnecessarily hard work...oh well, though. Lesson learned when I do it for all the others haha.

I just replaced all 10 of my fronts to run prostars with a little spacer. Grease on the knurling and oil on the threads they pulled through like butter with my electric impact.

I used the ARP 3.25" long. 12mmX1.5 is the thread pitch. I am running a 5/16 spacer and they fit with no grinding and sit pretty much perfectly flush with the fenders.

Ya'll do know that if you go to a NHRA track to run they like to see the stud out of the lug nut about the length of the diameter of the stud.

Not so, the stud only has to enter the hex portion of the lug nut at least the diameteter of the stud being used.I was a nhra tech.
