Default Torque Arm: Tunnel or Trans mounted?

I am in the market for a torque arm. I am going to buy an adjustable one because I know for sure the pinion angle is off due to the drop.

My question is, what are the advantages or disadvantages of both the tunnel mounted and transmission mounted TA? Which is stronger? Less vibration/noise?

I currently have a 3.4 V6 in the car now. I am going to be doing a engine and transmission swap in the fall and would like to know if both will fit on both applications.

EX: Will the tunnel mounted TA fit/function properly on my current T5 transmission and/or will the transmission mounted TA fit/function properly on a T56(LS1/LT1)?

Thank you for all help and advice!

(I did search this subject and just could not find the right answer to my questions)
