Unclear what you mean. The adjuster is a small window with a keyhole in it that you can see when the front arm is extended by looking at the shhock through the spring. However, you had to make sure when installing the shock that you put the small window facing outwards, otherwise you'll have to take it all apart to redo the window.

Look at figure one to see what I mean. Use an allen wrench in the keyhole to adjust.

Sorry, didnt mean to be unclear. The top of the front shock has a rubber nipple or something and it just sticks through my fender on the top side. But now I see what you are talking about from the link, thanks.

Me and some buddies through them on so fast I completely forgot about the fronts and being adjustable so I have no idea where my window is facing. Im gonna have to check it out. Thanks for the info and link.

That rubber nipple isn't part of the shock. That's used to align the shock mount when re-installing the shock/spring assembly.

By the way, I now have the Strano springs on, fronts set 5 turns from full soft, and the rear set to 1/2 turn from full soft, and it rides far better than with the stock springs, and handles better too. Controls rebound very well considering the 9", C5 brakes, and aftermarket ZR1s that I've got on the car.

That's exactly where I ended up on the shock settings. Actually I like 6 sweeps up on the fronts on faster roads, but it's pretty stiff for the slower bumpy roads. I'm a few psi lower in the rear tires.

I had Koni's dual adjustable on my previous car and liked them. When racing I adjusted the set up a few time until I found the sweet spot and after that the car handled predictably and did not need further adjustment. The tricky issue was finding the sweet spot for the bump adjustment as adding bump increased the feel of the suspension but tended to make the car a bit squirrelly on slaloms. On my current car I'm using 4/3 and like them so far. I'm at 4 sweeps from full stiff in the front and 1 click from full soft in the rear. The car felt very neutral. I may add a sweep in front before the next event. But other than that I'm happy with my selection.

i would just get koni 4/3 unless you have extra money to spend or think youll be adjusting them alot. for me it wasnt worth a hundred dollars, and it doesnt take long to pull the rear shocks, and i dont think ill change the settings very much

I purchased 3rd gen rears b/c I'm going to set them on full soft, install them, and then I'm done. Why pay more for ease of adjustability when you don't plan on adjusting them?

4/3 from Sam for a couple years now and they have been great. Full hard in the rear for the drag strip and the car hooks decently, not too hard to pull them off again to adjust.

That's your decision, but the way I see it is that you have adjustment, you should at least try other settings and see if you find something that you like better. You might indeed like full soft best, but you can't know that until you have a point of reference. And you might well find you prefer another setting.

My point of reference is the (old valving) Bilstein HD's. I would have gone with those, but they're not available. Your advice and that of others is that full soft is going to be closest to them in comfort, yet with better control. I don't want any stiffer, so I don't anticipate adjusting them. But you're right - I can if I want to. Removing a rear shock is not a huge deal.

That was my point, you should try if only to learn the differences. And your case is more unique as most don't have ride issue with the front shocks. You might well (and probably will) end up running full soft rear based on what you feel about the front. But your opinion about the ride isn't completely in sync with most other's. Hence a good reason for adjustable shocks.

4 sweeps from full hard front and 1 from FS on rear. Planning on a 12 bolt so would go 4/3 if I had to do again. Earlier poster is right, can run a little stiffer it seems in warm (hot here) weather.

I have Koni 4/3's on my t/a.I didn't want to pay the extra money for the 4/4's.I thought that I could adjust the back ones if I had to,but figured I would just set them on full soft and forget them.I am running mine at 5 sweeps from full soft on the front and full soft on the rears.If you want the ability to adjust the rears without taking the shocks off buy the 4/4's

To you or anyone who can answer-

Why would you go 4/3 if you have a 12 bolt?

I'm considering getting konis and a 12 bolt, and will probably go with the 4/4, but if there's some reason why not to, I'd like to know.
