Anyone's stock rear sway bar endlinks clunk?
I'm trying to isolate a clunking coming from the rear of the car. Anytime I go over bumps I hear it plain as day. It sounds as if something is "jostled" around. The following are not loose and don't move:
exhaust is fine
springs are fine
sway bar is not moving and all bolts/hardware are tight
torque arm bolts are tight
shocks are fine
On my old C5 I had problems with the sway bar endlinks, granted they are much different in design, etc, but has anyone had a stock sway bar and stock sway bar endlinks clunk over bumps?

Re: Anyone's stock rear sway bar endlinks clunk?
I tried to find the other posts that talk about this problem, but the site is not letting me track them down (or go much of anywhere right now). I had a problem like this in the right rear end. Onlt on hard bumps or if I really hit 2nd gear (way too hard). I was tuning my suspension and added some compression damping to my Koni's and the noise just went away. I still can't see what was rubbing, but I suspect that over hard bumps it is bottoming and there is contact under the chassis. I was guessing the exhaust was "bouncing" into the upper panhard rod....but I still haven't located teh actual source....and since it wen't away, I haven't bothered to look anymore....Just my experience...not sure it will help....

Have you torqued down the endlinks to specs, are they stock?
I think mine may be clunking but I need to torque the poly rear endlinks down until they slightly bludge.

torque your panhard, lcas as tight as you can with a breaker bar. Make sure you shocks are real tight too. You might be out of alignment with lower springs and no adjustable anything.
Also could be stuff binding a bit and then releasing. Gobs of nasty grease in all bushings helped me some, but really squeezing all the bolts really did it.

I am hunting the same F@#$%% problem!!!
Right rear. Hwy driving & "slightly" uneven roads no noise!
Bumpy, choppy roads @ slow creepy speeds drive me Friggin crazy!
I have the LGM Hypercoils,LGM AdjPHR,Bilstiens HD's,LGM Sway bars.
It is only on the right rear that i have any noise @ all!!??
Seems to me to be the fbody design!? I have heard this from many of the fbod guys that have
lowered their cars?? WTF???

If you start "tightening" things under the car, please look up torque specs (or at least, don't go crazy with the breaker bar). Good luck!

I have the same problem since my Moser 12 bolt install. I can't figure out exactly where it is coming from. It does drive you nucking Futs after a while.

I have the same damn problem, as many of you know.
Right rear, low speed, choppy road... THUMP THUMP THUMP.
My mods are in my sig, but it happened after only the LCAs and panhard rod went on. Im gonna blow my head off!

I've got the same problem since my Moser and fuel pump install. I know my problem isn't the upper panhard rod, because it was removed a LONG time ago. I'm wondering if something might be loose in my shock, or maybe it's related to the spring.
I've got a stock swaybar & endlinks, but aftermarket LCA's, PHR, and Hal shocks with stock springs.

just go around and check everything over....
something is either just loose or perhaps the factory endlinks have crushed/worn out over time and need to be replaced.....

Re: Anyone's stock rear sway bar endlinks clunk?
I had this problem right after I installed my G2 poly/rod end LCAs and PHB. I found that on the driver's side of the axle where the PHB connects, the mount was rubbing the PHB. I had to grind down the mount about a quarter inch so that it cleared the PHB through the entire range of movement. This worked until I installed my Eibach springs when the noise came back. Make sure the PHB isn't rubbing on anthing and also that the top shock mount is nice and tight, I noticed mine needed to be retightened after about 100 mile break in period. Hope this helps.
