I didn't even know they made them? How much are they?

I was thinking of making my own mold and pouring some polyurethane in, but never got around to it. My neighbor did his own motor mounts that way.

its actually some other reject company that sells through napa. the napa ones are $80 as opposed to GM $170.

if you have the ability to do a polyurethane one i don't know whats stopping you. i would donate my old oem ones to you if you like

The ones we bought at NAPA were IDENTICAL to the stock ones. Every scratch, bend, weld, etc. The ones we bought elsewhere were not and we didn't have much luck with them.

I got aftermarket KYB mounts when I first got my springs installed. They were like $50 each or something through summit.

I remember that it was about $89, but it was well worth it after putting on a different one and having the threaded insert strip and having to tear it down and do it twice. Make sure the threads are steel and not an insert that's set like a rivet. The steel threaded ones are the good ones.

to the best of my knowledge they are steel threads. i don't really know how to tell. but the whole piece feels quite solid. the part numbers for left and right are 261-3195 and 261-3196 and the rubber insulator (bearing thing) that mounts on top is 261-3197 which is universal for either side.

The "other" one we used had aluminum threaded inserts that were punched into the holes. Many people say they work fine, and they might. We had problems with the bolt holes being off and the bolts went in something other than straight and then stripped the inserts (the inserts began to spin in the mount).

they are in fact steel. assuming aluminum isn't magnetic i put a magnet to it and it stuck. so i take it these are the the good ones

thanks trackbird

I paid $48 for one through carquest that is much beefier than the stock one it replaced. I was tempted to get one for the other side even though I didn't need it.
