Not to add to any bashing but I put the same brackets on mine when I installed my torque arm. It didn't mention anything about cutting those brackets in the instructions, but I did have to 'convince' them to not be in the way. It was a pretty small bump in the entire install considering it only took very little mechanic knowhow to fix. I could only suggest a updated webpage and manual if it wasn't already fixed by UMI.

Yeah stupid UMI, they didn't include anything in the instructions for my torque arm that said I would have to remove the motor mounts either. Bullshit!!

I just did the C5 front brake conversion with UMI brackets last weekend. The instructions were crystal clear. And the whole job went a lot smoother than I expected. Very pleased. I was a little apprehensive about taking a sawsall to my front end, but the moment passed and the results are great.

lol, SO are we still talking about the rearend lower control arm relocation brackets that are in the picture on the first page? Some people keep bringing up C5 brake conversions....??

I installed BMR LCA relocation brackets on my 10 bolt in about 20 minutes. From what I remember you do have to hammer them into place around that emergency cable bracket. I did not have to take anything else apart. And I'm sure it's nearly an identical product.

You guys can talk all the trash you want I know cutting this bracket isn't that big of a deal. Were just pissed that they don't tell you before hand that modifications are required. Some people don't want to cut on there car. Why can't they just say that on the web site and or the instructions. The install wasn't hard at all, but they say "UMI Performance's new bolt-in control arm relocation brackets are a 100% bolt in set-up that require no welding, drilling or cutting. They are a simple bolt on that can be completed in 30 minutes or less.". That's a complete lie. Yeah it is possible be done in 30 minutes, if you know before hand you need to cut and where. What don't they understand about cutting this bracket. I like the quality and customer service of UMI and will buy from them again, I just don't like when company's forget to tell you important info to better sell there products. I'm posting this incase anyone else comes into this problem considering there instructions don't state any of this.

This has nothing to do with the time it takes to do the install. This is about company's not stating the facts.

maybe if youve never done it before, you should have talked to a few people that have, and had someone in the area...the relocation brackets are really a no brainer...if you didnt want to cut anything why didnt you return them or call UMI before you posted this BS thread...just FYI...sometimes modding takes a little bit of bending, grinding, hammering, cutting ect. that isnt mentioned...or maybe when properly installed dont require any cutting...

oh yeah, it took me maybe an hour, but that because i decided to do some other maintenance and whatnot including stripping the rear tires off of the rims to put new ones on

I'm pretty sure you should have just stepped back and re-evaluated your situation before you got all bent out of shape and came on here to bash one of the top suspension/chassis shops.
If you can't handle the simple install of a relocation bracket your in for some rough times modding the rest of your car.

See if this helps you out at all.

What facts? You act as if we riped you off or something. We simply forgot to mention that the E-Brake cable needs bent or cut, it is such a simple procedure and a little bit of common sense says to just bend it out of the way. I don't see what the big deal is, I don't see why you are so bent out of shape since you have to bend or cut a bracket. It was left out on accident and for our protection ONLY the 98-02 models require this, all 82-97 models do not require any cutting or bending of the bracket. So you can see how easily it could be missed when only 25% of the vehicles require it.

All aftermarket relocation brackets require the same modification. You PM'd for help and I replied quickly with a modified instruction sheet that helps explain what to do. What else can I do. We modified the instructions to help explain it better.

Thanks to everyone else for the positive comments, we appreciate it!

Update your website to explain this.

OK, so the web site doesn't say

Installing these brackets requires you to bend or cut your e-brake brackets

Would it have kept you from buying them if you knew that? If so, I'm not sure modding a car is a good hobby for you. It's not like they asked you to cut off your own toe.

Exactly!, very well said. There should be a test that you have to take to determine if you are too big of a crybaby to mod cars.
