Default How much?

How much did you guys pay to have your subframe connectors welded to your f-body? I got an estimate of about 170$ with about 2 hours of work. Is that in the general price range?

Dang, that sounds way, way too high. There are only 4 welds, how the blazes could it take them 2 hours?
Find someone more reasonable, that knows what they are doing.

Agreed! I think I paid about $60 (definitely under $100). A good welder should be able to do it in 30 minutes. I had an exhaust shop do mine (not a brand name).

Well, I had 2 estimates for shops here in phoenix and one was 170$ and the other was 175$... I am still waiting for a call back on the third... The two shops I got quotes from I know do good work but it is still high... I only paid 75$ for the subframe connectors (got a good deal off of here), and I dont want to pay more than double that to get them put on. It kinda ruins the point of a good deal.

thats way to much. Speed shops around hear charge like 75-80 bucks, and you can go to a cheap exhuast shop and have it done for 50 bucks.

Find some other place..

good luck, Chris

You might post your question in your regional forum.
Have you checked any muffler shops? This is not a difficult procedure, by any measure.

I checked on the regional for some shops but I have not called any muffler shop as of yet. If an admin wants to move this to Western Members forum maybe that would be better... Thanks for your info up until now guys.

All you have to do is go to the regional section and post a link, explaining what you are trying to do. That way, you get feedback in both areas.

Sorry to be off topic, but do you ever take your '71 out? Where do you take if you do? West side, east side?

hell... anyone with a welder should be able to do it... i'd take it to any regular muffler shop... put it on the lift, tell them where to weld it... probably get you a much better price...

40-60 is the normal price range for install on these...

I wish I could bring it out... the only thing is it is not even close to being half way rebuilt... here is a pic of where it is now...
(yeah I havent even pulled the motor yet ) It is hard to do it, with limited space, tools, and money but it will get done. I am over in Awhatukee so, once it gets running I will let you know.

Oh... I have a question about after the install... Do you have to reload the suspension in any particular way or should it be good to go?
