Default Need to find out if my new steering rack is indeed a LS1 rack

The part number on my new rack is 26070366.
I tried looking this up on GM and it doesnt come up.
The guy sold me this and a steering linkage shaft and the
linkage shaft is for a lt1 style i think. It looks identical to
my old lt1 shaft. Does anyone know if this is a ls1 rack?
Thanks in advance

I would also like to here some info on this. I had my rack replaced a while ago, and afterwards it felt like the steering ratio had increased (more turning of the wheel for less turning of the tires). Maybe I got an LT1 rack.

Went through this about 3 months ago ! My mechanic put 2 on before talking with his dealership buddy ! Come to find out GM is not making new R&P anymore for SS , only rebuilt ! Not sure on Part# for rebuilt ! I got lucky and found a new one on shelf at dealer on other side of town !
I would suggest you use a sponsor to help you !

26070366 is coming up as an invalid part number. Lemme check with my parts dept for p/n for an LT1 car and an LS1 car.

I'm in the market for a new rack and pinion myself. All the parts stores have the V6 and the V8 listed as the same part. The V6 will fit the V8's if you have stock exhaust manifolds but if you have long tubes you have to get the V8 part. That's another thing you might want to consider.

I checked for a 2001 Trans Am...and the P/N is 26062311. Its a good number for 00-02 LS1 F-bodies.

Good luck.
