Default what shocks on lowered car

Hey guys, 01 ss with sportlines. rear shocks are gone after 2 years and I dont like how the *** is dragging anymore. I started cutting my stock rear springs till I got the ride height I wanted. took 1 and a half coils off and the car sits nice. nice rake to it. what rear shocks should I get? bilstein HDS or revalved bilstein hds or??? thanks for any help

I hate to say it but the Sportline springs don't offer good rates making it tough to match up a good shock. You will need a Strano Revalved Bilstein or better yet Koni's.

Konis and I might look at some different springs. Good luck. Lot of good info on this with any lowering spring Konis is what you really should go with. Revalves can be good depending on what you want/need.

Go koni's. You will not regret it.

revalves are going to be the cheaper option than Koni's, but there's two problems with going that route:

1) Koni's are going to be the better shocks, and
2) unless something has changed recently, the Bilstein HD's are on national backorder, so Sam Strano has none available to revalve for you.....and even then, IIRC, Bilstein has made changes to their HD's (for the worse, as far as revalving goes).

call Sam Strano, he'll point you in the right direction.

This is what I would do if I knew anything: Koni SA's along with Sam Strano springs. But I know nothing.

thanks for the replies, ive ditched the REAR sportline springs. the fronts are fine for now. i put my stock rear springs back on minus 1.5 coils and the car raised up about 1.5". maybe ill be a cheap *** again and just throw some new stock rear shocks on and see how she rides.
