Default aluminum driveshaft

I have a 95 trans am and I was just wondering if an aluminum driveshaft is a good thing to buy? I have a factory steel one now and I am wondering if there are any major differences between the two.

Which aluminum driveshaft? A factory one from a later year, or an aftermarket one?

well with an aluminum driveshaft you will pick up a few horses due to less rotational mass...but nothing noticeable

actually...you'll pick up torque...maybe 3-5#, the hp won't really go up much, maybe 1hp.

thats all due to less rotational mass as stated above.

the main reason to upgrade is the better balance that the LS1 or 1LE shafts have. you'll get less vibration at highway speeds. you may not feel much now depending on how your stocker is balanced. but you'll probably still feel some reduction.

How hard is it to swap a driveshaft? Any tricks to it or is it straight-forward?
