Default Best shocks for my application?

i'm looking at the mid level shocks currently. not really interested in Koni's. i have 105k on stock shocks/springs. i am going to stay on my stock springs, i dont want to go lower. i dont need great handling, i want a decent ride with a significant improvement in the stability, braking, and overall feel of the car. if they improve my traction problems then i'd be even more happy.

so which set would you recommend? i was looking on stranoparts and i found the kyb's, slp bilsteins, and the tokico's.

You can't get Bilsteins right now. KYB AGXs are your best bet... though i can't believe I'm saying that. I really wish that the Bilsteins weren't on backorder.

i thought that slp made the bilstein pack and was sold as a package of 4.. i didnt think these were out of stock. although i'm not sure what the difference is in these and the standard bilsteins. I honestly dont know, that's why i'm asking lol.

All Bilsteins are on backorder from what i understand. Your only real options at this point are Konis (which you and a lot of others just don't want) and KYB AGXs. Choose one and go with it. You obviously know I and a lot of others are going to push the Konis because they're just the best bolt in option available so i don't know what else you want to hear. KYBs are better than DeCarbons...

I'm pretty sure tokico only makes rear shocks for the 4th gen.

The AGX's cost a little more than the Tokico's do, but they also give you 8 settings to pick and choose from, vs. no options on the Tokico's. I sell AGX's for $409, Tokico's for $345. Not a lot of difference on price, and I think well worth the $64 to be able to play with dampers to find what suits you best. You could buy a hand-held tuner and dump it in too, but I'd be if it was only $64 more to get one you could acutally manipulate the power, you might opt for it. This is the very same thing, just with compression and rebound damping instead of fuel and timing curves.

I'm not on top of the Bilstein back order situation, however I've had the SLP Bilsteins on my '96 Z-28 for 4-5 years now. I'm satisfied with them.
