Default Brake Headache

Well the brakes have been squeaking with consistancy to wheel speed, then not squeeking when the brakes are applied, then squeeking coming to a halt. I thought it was the Hawks HPS pads that were installed. I put the QS ceramic pads back in that had over 75% life. Drove off, same symptoms. I can tell its coming from the front passenger side. Today went I went out to clean them up and relube them and see if that worked, I couldnt for the life of me get the caliper pin bolt to budge. The caliper still floated on the mount like its supposed to but that freakin caliper bolt wont move. Should i be worried about that? Or was it just because i hadnt been driving it to warm them up before i started. Either way Im pissed off at them. How much would it cost to get new rotors/calipers/caliper pins/bolts etc. (OEM)? Thats what ive boiled it down too.

I'd suggest checking your wheel bearing. Take the wheel, brakes, and rotor off and then turn the hub by hand. If it sounds/feels like a meat grinder or clicks, its time for a new bearing assembly.

I had the same problem. The squeaking was very similar to a wear bar rubbing on the rotor. ?I guess when the brakes are applied, enough load was taken off of the hub to halt the squealing?

My OEM hub assemblies lasted me just 70K miles.

ok today i relubed and cleaned the crap out of the front brakes, checked the hub, put everything back on and its still doin it. I didnt have time to check the rear brakes but it really sounds like its coming from the front right. This is annoying as hell.

I've owned 2 F-bodies, a 95 and 99.

I never had and any noise with brakes.

when I do a brake job, I lube the caliper pins which can cause issues if they are not moving freely.

I would take off the calipers and make sure the pins are greased well.

Yeah i pulled the pins out cleaned them and the holes they slide in and relubed them. I guess I should pull the rears off and check them, but its unlikely they are the problem. Its costing me 5 dollars an hour everytime i do this, im up to 20 bucks now between 2 different days.....

Yeh, I did a brake upgrade recently and skipped the thread locker, then lost a bolt.
