Default 96-97SS vs. 98-02SS Bilstein/SLP suspension. Whats the difference?

I had a 97 SS with the Bilstein/SLP suspension package. From what I have experienced, the same package on later model SS's sit higher and don't ride as well.

What is the difference in shocks and springs?

Also, anyone know the part #'s for the 96-97 Bilsteins HD's that were valved for the SLP springs? SLP is no help at all on this subject. I plan on installing the setup from the 97SS onto my 98SS, but I need the springs. I know I am gonna have to search for a set, as they are no longer being made.

The SS springs aren't much stiffer than the regular stuff (in some cases not at all stiffer). Why not spend the same money but get Strano springs and Konis?

Have you ever driven a 97 SS? They are way stiffer and are totally different.
2nd of all, that's not what I asked. Thanks
