Default DeCarbon shocks?

Is there any place to get these? Or a place that will re-build them?

I thought the SS came with Bilsteins, or was that just an option?

If not, just go to your local Auto Parts storefront and ask for their cheapest replacement shock. Decarbon or otherwise, they're all crap, literally. Won't make any difference which brand you get.

For a ride as nice as yours, compliment the ride with a nice set of Koni's

But try www.gyrhead.com give them a call or email them, they used to have a bunch of Left over decarbons that were literally brand new...it's been a while since i seen them but wouldnt hurt to ask them.

but everyone is gonna steer ya away from decarbons

Throw the DeCarbons in the trash and get Konis or Bilsteins.

Nice ride. If you're looking for direct replacements you could just go through any Chevrolet dealership, but they're going to be pricey. SLP may still also have sets of take-offs. eBay would be another option. I have a set of used Decarbons, but you're probably looking for new.
If originality is not an issue, I'd have to agree with the others and recommend a set of Koni SA or DAs over any AC Delco product. Call Sam Strano (a sponsor) and he'll hook you up.

mine are nearly new...less than 5k on them. I think they ride great imho and handle fine. but this is my first sports car, so i think it's pretty amazing what the car can do. anyways i'll be pulling mine off this spring if you are interested in them. damn near new man...i'll give you a good price. it's only the front ones that are nearly new, one of the old ones broke in half so i was forced to get it fixed while on vacation and that's all they had was the stock ones.

pm me if interested

I thought they were called DeCrapons?

I'm with allbaugh_04, they actually feel pretty good to me (though maybe partly because I come from a totally worn out taurus lol). I can't imagine how much better some of these others must be.

I believe DeCarbons are no longer made - but not sure. (You can do a web search and find more info.) For their time (long ago) they were decent, but shocks have since evolved.

I just replaced mine with the SLP Bilsteins. I have a WS6 DD and can't tell the difference between the new SLP shocks and the way the car drove from the factory.

The difference between your pos grand am and camaro is probably pretty close to the difference between your camaro with decarbons vs koni's.

go with Koni's or something better. With new decarbons, your probably gonna end up replacing them anyway when they start to ride like ****....

Call SLP they used to have a ton of those shocks around, they were takeoffs with only about 5 miles on them,. They were almost giving them away at $10. Good hunting.

He speaks the truth, the decarbons are just that bad. FWIW, I personally wouldn't own another fbody without atleast a set of Koni's on it.
Its unreal the difference in handling from just good shocks...

DING! Now you all know why I'm not a fan of the current era Bilstein's.

Default DeCarbons

I just put KYB AGX's (adjustable) and I have to say these are some nice shocks and a very reasonable in price. I'll give you my deCarbons! Nice thing about the KYB is that there is a dial for 8 different settings. they are working well with the lowered springs, etc
