Default Quesiton bout new rotors/pads..

Well i'll start out with the cars info, it has 93k miles, im unsure if the rotors have been replaced... but im sure they have been lol. i had the front rotors turned about 3-5k miles ago and also installed new hawk hps pads to the front.(dont ask why i did only the front.. my rear pads and rotors seemed to be fine) anyways im bout to get new rims and i want to paint the calipers, and before i do that i want to put new pads on the rear and MAYBE new rotors all the way around. from what i've read, slotted/drilled rotors are for looks not performance, but again, im no expert. if i do get new rotors which should i get, and does it matter if my front pads have 3-5k on them,(can i still use them on the new rotors and just get new pads for the back). i was thinking brembo blanks on all 4, and just replacing the rear pads...

all opinions are useful

thanks,

michael

A good blank will offer the most surface area for the pads to contact so better for stopping. And I would thinkthe fronts will be fine just remember to break them in the correct way.

mike your rotors, see how much is actually left and that gm recommends you change them...i personally wouldnt get slotted or drilled...you cant use them again when they need to be turned...

Get the brembo blanks and paint the hub, that's where they rust.

rotorsonline.com will zinc coat any rotor for 8 dollars silver 10 for black or 12 for gold

I think this is what I am going to be doing shortly, that will save you having to paint
and they do stock brembo blanks

I see rotorsnline has that cryo treatment. Anybody have non-treated rotors that warped? Plus I don't see the zinc plating option, maybe I'll have to call for them.

Well the more I look around, since I don't race mine, I'm eyeballing the 2 yr warranty $45 autozone rotors If they warp I can just bring them back I assume.
