Default Can you remove a spacer from the stock rims?

I have a 2000 Z28 with stock suspension and rims, Is there a spacer I can remove to lower the a car somewhat from the rear springs? If so how much would this help and is there any drawbacks to this mod?

If you want it lower i would get drop springs. Dont remove anything, could cause an unproper fitment and noises.
