Default Help me Identify my SS's package...

I'm about to get another LS1 F-Bod. It's a silver SS...

Here are it's options (or lack of)
-99 Yr. Model
-No Traction Control
-Cloth Upholstery
-No rear defroster
-3.23 gear
-Power locks/windows

I was wondering if this could possibly be a 1LE package.I test drove it and the suspension was a lot tighter than my current Z28's suspension(don't know if it's because of less miles or the stock SS components). This SS is one of the few I've seen without traction control or leather seating. Also, does anyone know if I could call Chevrolet and give them the VIN# and get a copy of the options list and build number of this SS.

Thanks,
Jeremy

If you look at the sticker on the driver's side door, it will list all the RPO codes. WU8 is the code for the SS, If it is a 1LE then that code will be listed on the door too.

I think all 1LE cars were 6 speeds. I'm not aware of any autos. I'm guessing (by the 3.23 gear) that this car is an auto, so I doubt it is a 1LE. But, just look for the option code on the door, that will tell you.

Not all 1LE's were 6-speeds, but if it is a '99 1LE, it will not have power windows or locks. You can check the SPI label on the drivers door jamb, or any dealer can give you the option codes with the VIN. But, of the 7 SS 1LE's built in '99, none were silver (5 hugger, one white and 1 navy). However, your SS will have the 1LE front bar, and the 1LE springs (all '96-'99 SS did).
