Taking the top part off the Koni shocks.
How does one go about doing this? I need to replace the top part to replace the "hat" with the stripped threads.
I've tried taking a wrench to inside the shock itself, but no dice. Are there any other easy ways to go out this?

If you're referring to the metal top hat piece to which the dust covers attach, I used a grinder. Some have had luck using a 15/16 offset wrench and cutting open just enough of the wrench end to allow it to pass over the rod. I tried that and the end just flared open. Some non-vendors make a tool to do this.

What you need is a 3/4" dr., 6 point, 24mm impact socket. cut 1/4 of the socket out and grind some wrench flats on it. I used a vise with a couple of strips rubber to clamp the bell part.
Or maybe you can find a O2 sensor socket that will fit.
When you reassemble it put some loctite on the threads.
