Default I s it o.k. to temporarily delete the upper phb support bar?

I intend to get the TRZ arb with the phb relocated, this will allow more room for my true duals but in the mean time I'd like to go ahead and get my duals over the axle. A friend of mine owns an exhaust shop and will order all of the mandrel bends needed to get it done. I'm sure the upper bar adds quite a bit of support/strength but I would only do it temporarily and it's just a street car with HAL/275's in the front so no corner carving. The TRZ kit will add the support back in, just in a different manner. Just wanted to get some opinions.

My opinion would be no. I don't know where the other tie points to the body are along the subframe, but you'd be cutting the triangle out of any lateral support for the suspension. Even moderate cornering in daily driving can put a lot of lateral force on the chassis. Now, you'd be asking the body mounts along the subframe to absorb that. I may be FOS, but it sounds like a bad idea.

I was kinda thinking the same. I know that some Drag racers do it but..... I wonder if there is a way I can move it downward to allow myself more room?

i also would not remove it.
And how would you know your new exhaust will work with this new upper PHR if it is not intalled while your installing the exhaust?

Do people do it? Yes. Would I? Absolutely not. Then again, I'm very picky about taking care of my car.

Michaelg589 is right, put the bar on first and then do the exhaust. You have clearance with this product, but not unlimited clearance.

It's not the kind of thing anyone would recommend and something will break if you drive without one for long enough, but if you do choose to do it you'll probably be fine. Given the option of an exhaust or a PHB on my car though, I'd take the PHB and ditch the exhaust as my temporary solution.

not to be to mean but I think either UMI or BMR upper panhard system looks to actually give you more room, but I may not be right. if you look at those systems they lower the upper bar one bolt hole down giving you about another inch or so to fit the true dual in there.

I just did my own true dual and I think you are going to have a pretty tough time with that bar, but I would imagine it still can be done. I used 3" all the way out the back so if 2.5" is used things will be easier

4" will go over the TRZ setup + the BMR stuff only allows you to take both pipes over the pass. side. Mine will be going over the traditional way, one on each side.

I agree. One on each side shouldn't be a problem with this TRZ setup, even with the stock tank.

The TRZ piece has the most exhaust clearance of any piece on the market. The panhard bar support goes right through where the original panhard rod goes, and the new panhard rod gets relocated behind it.

Anyone get true duals run with the TRZ piece yet? I would like to see it!

^^Send me one and I'll fab up the exhaust 20 minutes after its installed

Can you get the TRZ without the antiroll bar? It looks like a badass setup. I just don't have a need for the anti roll bar since my car will be more of a road race setup and I'll be running Strano bars, but I need something to run my exhaust and that looks perfect

If your buddy owns the exhaust shop, have him help you modify the stock upper PHB. I made a custom one to get around my true duals in under an hour, and I cant weld to save my life.

I drove without mine for probably a good 3 or 4 months... this was before there were any relocation kits that I was aware of. As soon as BMR released theres, I went ahead and replaced it. Didnt notice a difference either way to be honest! But I feel better with it attached
