Default Panhard bar?

ok so i bought a adj. panhard bar for my 2000 firehawk, and i was reading my firehawk owner info. and it said under panhard bar "firmer bushings that inprove transient cornering", i bought the new panhard bar because i am lowering it so i heard it was good to have, but my question is do i even really need a new one

mhmmm.. it will center up your rear end, which is really important when lowering your car

If for absoultely nothing else, just look at the difference...

a nice solid piece of metal vs a stamped sheet of metal. Plus, the adjustable bar does help re-center the wheels after lowering.

All of the reasons given are valid points for needing an adjustable panhard bar. What most people don't realize is there car can be stock ride height and still not have the rear of the car properly aligned. Will the car drive ok without a new one?...probably will it be right?...no

What's the advantage of being able to adjust a PHB versus just buying a non-adjustable one?

The adjustable version is the only one that will allow you to make the side to side adjustments to correct the rear alignment. The non adjustable panhard bar is a fixed length so if the rear alignment is off you CANNOT make a correction.

Is that something that I need to worry about since I'm not planning to lower the car?

Well just like BMR said it can be a little off even if you dont lower it. You would really notice if you ever try to run 315s on the rear. I am lowered and running 315s and its really close on one side and far off of the other, I just havent had the time to install mine yet.

Like BMR said you can get away without one but it wont be perfect, I would have done it anyway just to get rid of that stamped steel stuff.

Even if a car is stock it does not mean the rear is centered. Mine was a 1/4" off towards the driver's side when it was stock. Does a 1/4" matter? Probably not but for me it is piece of mind.

I think I want to get one anyway, but I just wasn't sure whether to get an adjustable one or the non-adj. From what you guys are saying, it sounds like the adjustable is the way to go. Thanks!
