Default Umi Subframe Conn.

What benefits would I get from subframe connectors? Is it true that they can cause more rattles? I have pretty much everything but the subframes and k-member from UMI on right now. I want my suspension to be dialed by summer!THANKS!

You will notice the car being a little more stiff especially entering and leaving parking lots dropping off the curb. They are supposed to prevent rattles not cause them. I have some SLP SFC's and like the feel of them. These cars should have some type from the factory. They are a good thing especially if you plan more mods to go faster.

ties up the frame as a whole.car more stiffer.not true get the sfc welded not bolted.by not having sfc on your car frame is twisting everytime you turn on high speed run or at the track.you will notice big gaps between your doors to the body without sfc.good luck.

Ya I see a lot of people are going with the bolt in ones and then welding them in. Any weight numbers of what the average SFC's weigh?

There light. I have the UMI 3 point and the difference in the 2 and 3 point is about equivalent to a gallon of gas. It dosen't matter if they weigh 100 lbs., you have to have them if your going to MOD and race one of our cars. Good luck.

i have 3 points for one main reason. i bought a tunnel brace mounted torque arm from umi and with the 3 point subframe connectors it ties into the tunnel brace giving better weight distribution to all the areas of the car. you would be just fine with 2 points aswell. i have a complete umi suspension and im extremely happy with it.

Yeah I think I'm gonna go with the 2 point UMI SFC. Figure it's better then nothing and they look easy to install. Appreciate the info guys.

Yes they are very easy to install. If you go with the bolt on model they can be installed in 20 minutes or less using basic hand tools and require no cutting, grinding or drilling. If you go with the weld in set-up there is still no cutting or drilling just sanding and prepping of the area to be welded.

I have the weld-in boxed SFC's. I noticed a slight increase in stiffness, especially when launching/powersliding/hard corning. For the price I am very pleased.

The best thing about sub frame connectors imo is it makes jacking your car up very easy.

It also tightens up the frame a lot and will really expose how crappy the stock shocks are.

They will be a nice top off to the rest of my UMI stuff. My question to you is, what is the benefit going with a 3 point vs a 2 point?

How do you install sfc's? Do you just put it up on a lift and weld them in? If the car is on a lift wouldn't the frame sag in the middle then stay that way after you welded the sfc's in? Or is it even enough sag to matter?

The 3 point are awesome and they tie the car completely together plus of you get the torque arm you can get the tunnel mounted one. I love my umi bolt ins tuck up tight to the body. I vote 3 point. Also I noticed all my t top noise gone after adding these

You need to install them on a drive-on/alignment rack.

Install them with the weight on the tires, ramps, lift whatever.

YUP!!!

What shocks do you have?

If you are on stockers, follow these steps:
1. Buy Konis from Sam
2. Kick yourself in the nuts for doing other suspension stuff first
3. Install Konis
4. Kick yourself in the nuts again for not doing the Konis sooner
5. Love the way the car drives

We recommend the 3-point set-up when you are running one of our tunnel mounted torque arms. The 3-point design bolts under the torque arm and distributes the weight from the floor.

Other then that you will be just fine with the 2-Point set-up
