What's up with my HAL shocks?

What's up with my HAL shocks? When I first got them I had to run the fronts at 6 and the rears at 5. Now I am running the fronts at 9 and the rears at 8 and the car feels tight but not like it is about to bounce like a ricer.
Why do I have to crank them up so tight to get the car to feel like it used to when I first got them? It has only been 5000 miles at most I think, probaly less.
Just worried that I'll have front and back set at max and it'll feel soft.
