chromoly or mild steel - how can i tell?

Default chromoly or mild steel - how can i tell?

I've got a cage in the car i bought, I'm going to take it out and and the 5pt harness and put it up fo' sale! how can i tell which metal it is?

If it's moly it will be tig welded....Can you tell how thick the material is ? is it painted or bare?

Some companies (we do) also TIG weld mild steel a lot for the precision look and strength.. so I would suggest that would be the way to tell as well... but still is not a guarantee. You can also find the thickness and the brand of the cage and check with the company that built it.
