3 point sfc's/torque arm? help?
I plan on welding in some subframes real soon here. Already bought the 2 point tubulars but after doing that I read that the better model torque arm requires the 3 point.
So what's up here?
Should I just get 3 point sfc now? Or did I read somthing incorrectly?
Thanks.

no you really didnt do anything incorrect. my buddy has the tunnel brace mounted torque with 2 points and everything works just fine and its even clearned for long tubes. the advantage you get with the 3 point subframe connectors and a tunnel brace mounted torque arm is that the subframe connectors will tie into the tunnel brace basically tieing in the all the major stress points and will distribute the load more evenly from what i hear. the only problem that we had with his, was the he had qtp long tube headers and the y pipe didnt clear so he got a custom one made. he planned on doing that anyways due to not liking the clearance of the qtp.

I hear its a good idea to get the torque arm off the trans tailshaft. You can just buy a crossmember & bushing if you want to use the stock torque arm for just under $300. If you want an aftermarket TA it ranges from 150-300 on top of that. I compared prices getting the UMI setup. Its about $130 more to buy the trans crossmember setup w/ adjustable TA compared to buying the tunnel mounted w/ DSL. I hear the tunnel mounted one can be noisy too. I wouldnt think it would be so bad if you got the tunnel mounted one & tie it in with the 3 pt SFCs. Thats the route I went. Installed the 3 pts today. I will be installing the TA when I get time this week.
