Default RIP OFF or NOT

Theres a Local shop that says they will drop my car for $100, but by doing this they r gonna raise my car on a lift heat all four springs then lower the car back down until it get to the height I want my car to sit at, then cool the springs back down so that my car will stay like that. Does this sound like a good way to F@#% **** up or is this some kind of old trick that Ive never heard of??? or

avoid them. These guys must be idiots, they do not realize that heating springs to temps required to do that will change the metallic grain structures and will actually change the properties of the springs. They could become brittle, or even weak and break.

Just buy some springs, or cut your stock ones.

Couldn't have said it better myself. This is a VERY BAD idea. In fact, I wouldn't even cut the stock springs unless you want your car to ride crappy. Just bite the bullet and buy lowering springs.

It will lower your car but the ride is going to be terrible.

You can cut stock springs but I would not heat them like that.

Ive cut my stock springs lowered my car 1.5 inches and have been cuttings springs longer then some of you have been alive. If done right theres all of a 10% increase and your stock shocks will wear out faster in maybe 20 or 30K miles. Or spend 300$ on springs and 800$ on adjustable shocks. Either way works and works well. My way Im a grand richer for more mods. Theres nothing wrong with cutting stock springs

I thought I'd let you'll know that my friend in a 2002 GT() said "F#@% it" and decided to do it. Now his car is 4in. off the ground, and he's constantly bumping up and down, his girlfriend got car sick riding with him, he can't take his baby anywhere in his own car and now he's a $100 short and has to purchase New shocks and hopefully springs!!
