Car feels loose on the street.

Car feels loose on the street.
I recently noticed that the steering in my car feels very loose. And it feels like im needing to put more effort into keeping it on the road when making turns on the highway. What could this be? Shocks, steering rack, something else? My car has 75,000 miles on it and has all the original suspension beside new LCAs with relocation brackets. Also as a side note but I dont believe it has anything to do with the suspension, I recently had a stall put in and now my trans is showing signs of slipping.

More effort to keep it on the road, do you mean it has memory steer, or is it following the cracks in the road?
Have you checked tire pressures? Front end componets?
Does the car bounce excessively over bumps?
As for the trans did you check the fluid is it full? Burnt?

Re: Car feels loose on the street.
I check my tire pressure 3 times a week. It seems to pull with the cracks in the road more than before. And it feels to bounce more over bumps its a loose feeling not a rough feeling. Ill have to check the trans fluid in the morning but the trans is on its way out regardless but that wouldnt cause the "floating" feeling I seem to have, would it?

Re: Car feels loose on the street.
Depending on the milage on the car the struts/shocks are prolly worn.
Have you had the car aligned lately?
That will help from following every crack in the road.
Dont overlook the front end componets.
Ball joints, tie-rods, rack mounts & front wheel bearings all have a major affect on the way the car "tracks".
By loose feeling is that play in the steering wheel?

"It seems to pull with the cracks in the road more than before."
This is a symptom of worn A-arm bushings, ball joints, and tie-rod ends.

This is a symptom of worn shocks.
"trans is on its way out regardless but that wouldnt cause the "floating" feeling I seem to have, would it?"
The trans would not cause that.
