Question SandBlasting my Suspension?

Well i had a bit of an incident with the car and im going to be sandblasting some stuff like the rear end to clean it up for repaint. We have some black magic super fine grit at work, then ill knock it down a touch for paint prep.

my question is, can i do this to some of my suspension? including:

rear sway 4130
maybe rear shocks
spohn LCAs
spohn TQ arm

obviously anything critical like threads, rod ends, piston shafts, bushings etc would be masked off, but would doing this hurt the integrity of the piece?

thanks

i highly doubt it would hurt anything unless you let it blast away for hours on end....just do enough to knock the old paint off, and it should be fine.

I don't see that as being a problem. I just wouldn't sand blast the shocks personally.

yes everything can be sandblasted. use a few layers of duct tape and mask off all bushings rod ends etc. blasting will not de-strengthen the parts. the only thing is i would not sandblast the shocks unless you take them completely apart and just blast the housing. you dont want to get any sand inside the shock. also if you can i would just take the bushings or rod ends out to be on the safe side.
