Default Ssbc Residual Brake Pressure Valve

Any one heard of these things or had any experience using them ?I'm trying to rid my 02 of the mushy brake pedal syndrome.Replaced lines with Stainless Steel lines, had the brake system professionally flushed & replaced the fluid with the good stuff, put new GM pads front & rear . All to no avail .Supposedly this $33.00 gizmo is suppose to fix the problem once & for all .If anyone knows ,please fill us in.

Can you tell whether the "mush" is trapped air, or is
something like the pads getting kicked further back
in the caliper due to rotor non-planarity? If you put
a "residual pressure" to the system, how does that
affect brake drag when not applied?

According to the manufacture it delivers a shorter pedal stroke by retaining minimum brake-line pressure.Works with both disc brake & drum brake systems . Machined from aerospace-grade billet aluminum. 2 models: 2 psi for disc & 10 psi for drum brakes . Available in polished aluminum or anodized finish. Blue anodized for 2 psi & red anodized for 10 psi valves .SSBC has specialized in high performance braking since 1976 . These units are backed by a 1-year warranty .
Forever eliminate the dreaded spongy-pedal syndrome .A firm pedal engages quicker , giving you perfect braking response everytime. The Residual Pressure Valve works by stopping brake fluid from draining back into the master cylinder . This keeps caliper pistons and brake shoes from fully retracting so your brake system stays primed and ready for action--WITHOUT BRAKE DRAG !
