Default looking for a good choppy idle cam to run with milled 243's....and what rear wheel hp

car is a 2002 ss 6 speed. looking for a good cam that has a good powerband, has a choppy idle, and pulls hard. must work well with milled 243s and perhaps a 100 shot down the road.

Anything with a Trex or so duration will be fun, with the right rune it will still drive great but will pull like a motherphuker to 7000.

What about ptv clearance? that's an easy obstacle to overcome to be able to use those cams. And it's benefits

Trex is supposed o be the largest you can usually get away wit on a LS1, so minimal PTV can be had easily with fly cutting.

x3 on the MS3 cam! Great street cam that chops & pulls hard & easy to tune, I ran 7.20s with this cam as a cam only car

Yes, you are correct; largest you can get away with on an LS1, with LS1 heads (66.67cc). The OP has 243s, which stock are 64.45 cc, then he had them milled.

My 243s were milled to 60cc, and I had absolutely no ptv cleareance and I had to flycut .1 on the intake and exhaust with my cam (232/234 .595/.598). The OP never specified whether he wanted to flycut or not.

My best 60ft was a 1.52 & pulled a 1.56 on the norm with a Yank PT4400 on with the MS3 & Elec Waterpump & all bolt ons.

I would go MS3 all day. I know plenty of guys on here who run 10s N/A with this cam & heads & intake & big converter

Just something that he will have to figure out. It is a bad *** cam for an old grind. But are the 241 heads actually going t have a taller valve height? The 317 71 cc and the 243 62 cc are supposed to have the same valve height, just less material in the chamber for the larger truck head.
