I've been hit twice on the passenger rear quarter panel. Both times they cut and replaced it, axles, wheels, tires, bumper. Besides from my experience, its cheaper for them to fix it with used parts. They always do. Thats what they used on mine. My current quarter panel has a chip in the paint and it shows green under there. Which pisses me off because that means they didn't prep it right. Not totalled.

Sorry bout that bud, hate to see that beautiful car go, but they probably will total it. Man if my wife had done that I don't know what I would have done. Probably would have needed a punching bag and a paper bag to breath in.

WELL!!! As much as I am thoroughly worried that my frame will be bent, the claims adjuster has been THOROUGHLY amazing. she is working with me and I recommend Allstate to anybody. my cars value was set at around 18 thousand when she realized how great of shape it was in and as of now, the initial estimate is 7400 dollars. she said if anything isn't perfect, let her know and she will get it fixed.

Belive me after a hit like that the car will never be the same. Make sure you Look the car over very well and use a good paint and body shop you trust. Also make sure it is a proshop for your insurance company that way if there is any problem with the work you can make your insurance company deal with it.

Do you have you old wheels and tires/parts??I would swap that stuff out ASAP! When my friend Pete totaled his 10th Anniv 03 cobra we de-modded the car at the bodyshop. First we talked with the guys at the body shop, they were cool with it, so we proceeded to pull off the exhaust, shifter, CAI etc..

EDIT: Just saw your post. How can that car not be totaled??? As some have already said, that f-body is doneski! I would honestly fight them on that assessment.

im a bit worried about it but i have a lifetime warranty through the body shop at the big GM dealership (Sterling) here in B/CS. I saw the work they did on my old roommates Mini Cooper Type S and they did a great job!

I am of the same opinion as y'all that I don't know if it'll ever be the same but we shall see. I ordered those 3 point UMI SFCs on Thursday. If they can be installed, I dont know what else really could be utterly wrong structurally. Cosmetics are really what worry me at this point.

If the SFCs can't be installed, the car is going right back to the body shop. The adjuster seems like a car lady and she said if anything isn't up to my specs, she'll fix it.

Well after all of this time...im back and I must say I am thrilled! and shocked at how well it turned out. They left a bit of overspray in the doorjams. All structural components were brand new GM. The fender was used obviously but looks great! All body lines fit perfect. New clearcoat all the way down the doors and on the roof.

Tell me what you think! Total damages was around $10,200.
