that's awesome Zach!
as far as the guy getting back to me with my engine... he got back to me this morning...
come to find out he bought three engines from a guy and he was told that they were all 5.3's and as he sold me the engine as a 5.3...
well when i got it home and pulled the heads off it turns out to be a 4.8... yes i was a little frustrated but what can ya do?
well, he emailed me and text me this morning appologizing for everything and asked me how he could tell if the others were 4.8's or 5.3's so i explained it all to him..
so basically we both got kinda jacked on the deal haha
im not too worried about it all. just gotta sell of this rotating assy and get me a different crank
so, hopefully ill get this block to the machine shop soon!!!

Saw the vid. Try less of a burn out on street tires.
I noticed on the TBSS it'll dead hook if I just roll them over to clean them off and hop it a couple of times. When I did a decent burn out they would spin off the line. I also drop the pressure to 28 PSI.

Wow did the layout change? Or am I on crack?
I tried to find my timesplips but there MIA but I believe my best 60ft was around a 2.1 with my shitty gears.
Had the tires down to 19 lbs with a small rolling burnout out of the water holding the brake. No john force burnout here.

Avoid the water with street tires. It gets in between the tread and tracks it into the lane. Not good for you or the guys with slicks.
Also watch how much air you let out. Too low of pressure on radials makes the tread cup. This means you'll be trying to get traction on the outside of the tread instead of the whole tread.

I don't drive through the water I know better then that Shannon and low tire pressure is not a good either also I've just found that the tires I have work decently with that air pressure well between 25 and 19 don't know why hopefully in the next couple of weeks with tax return I can get some stickier tires and really launch it
89camaro what rpm did you launch at?

Hey, I took the stock 2004 C5 vert to dale on Sunday... it ran a 8.5 @ 83 mph with same run flat tires that come from the factory and a 2.01 60ft. Stock all the way to the paper filter minus an aftermarket muffler and tips.
A decent tire and it can run a 8.3, I am pretty sure.
