its been in the news the last 3 weeks. lol

GM supposedly will keep the Ram and mini-van vehicles and slowly shitcan the rest of the Dodge/Chrysler vehicles.

But, GM needs the Govt to give them a 10 billion dollar loan to make this happen. That has been difficult to get.

i keep hearing alot of different things.

First that they were going to try and pull something to get out of debt

Then some foreign company was going to buy them

They were going to make the viper its own company

GM was buying them

They are selling off in portions.

I dunno what to believe anymore EXCEPT, that they are getting sold.

I figured that GM would wind up buying out Chrysler, but I didn't think it was going to happen so soon.

The last I read is that GM asked the gov't billions of dollars to fund a merge and it was declined. I also read that Chrysler was going to file bankruptcy is the merge doesn't happen.

GM and Chrysler are both hurting and will probably both file bankruptcy soon if none of this goes through

They are all hurting and if they cannot manage to turn themselves around, well the government is likely to intercede. We are just a step away from nationalization of our auto industry.

Ford had purchased the heavy duty line 3 ton 4 ton etc, from Cummins, all the engines for the light duty trucks ie 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are still owned by Chrysler

To hell with that. I like the HEMI platform. LOTS of potential just like the LS motors.
