Anyone know of any reputable tattoo artists/shops in the Houston & surrounding area?

Dude, no reason to go that far. I have a needle and some ink, I can do one up real good for you in your bathroom! haha
I followed a guy around for years who ended up on the north side at hot stuff deluxe but have been looking for a new artist myself.
It is easy to find someone to do tats, but it is very hard to find a true artist. Make sure you look through their books very well before committing.

I was kind of wanting to go get one today sometime after I get off, but I don't think that's going to happen. From what I have been told, that if I can walk into a shop and they take me right aways kind of says that they aren't too popular. That most reputable places require appointments. How do you feel about that?
Some of the places that have been mentioned to me:
Hot Rod Tattoos
Dragon Mikes
Scorpion Studios (a girl named Katja)

While I agree that it's good to think about what you're about to put on your body, I don't understand what's wrong with picking something off the wall if it is something you like. I have never done this, but I have seen some pretty bad *** designs in books or on the wall that I wouldn't mind having done. You can always ask the artist to personalize it a little bit to make it unique, but that just my .02.

I'm in no hurry whatsoever. I've been thinking about it for quite some time. No, I don't plan on walking in there and picking something on the wall. I have one on my leg that I got when I was like 14 that I want to get covered up. I don't know exactly what I want, but here's some things I do like:
skulls
demons
flames
tribal
stars
spider webs
tattoos that tear though the skin
jokers/clowns
etc.
I know, I know, it's pretty typical, but that's what I like.
