I have owned 600's and several 1000's. Point is you dont need to get a 1000. All your going to end up is paying more for insurance....and higher odds of wrecking it. Especially if your a novice rider. Get a current 600 sportbike and stick with it. Spend the extra cash in tracktime and a good set of leathers. You will never reach the full potential of a modern day 600..... and if you do.... well, you will be joining the ranks of the AMA riders!! Go sit on each one (CBR, Gixser, R6, Ninja). They all have about the same numbers as far as hp and tq, but its the ergos that most important. Good luck....
