One of the sponsors picked up around 50rwhp from tuning alone. I can't wait to see one with a big KB or Whipple.

I'll have to upgrade one day, to another used one of course lol.

Is this a joke, or is there still someone who doesn't understand the difference between factory rated HP and RWHP?

They are reffering to the fact that the he had been driving it and the intake was heat soaked, the blower was he soaked, the piping was was heat soaked. The car does not have an overheating problem. Ever hear of icing down the intake before going down the track?

Yeah, I understand that. A lot of times I want to go fast after I've been driving, not just the first few minutes, so everything would be heat soaked. Might happen even quicker in 100* weather. I didn't think it was overheating.
I'm considering buying one, but not as a track car, so I don't plan to pull over and ice the intake.
I assume (possibly wrong) that it wasn't picked up at the dealer, driven 50 miles non stop and then dynoed. I thought it would take longer to start losing power is all.

The main problem with heat soak on a factory car is caused by the stock tune. I can only guess as to how much timing is pulled from the car as it gets hot, considering you will see an EASY 30 hp on a TB SS because of this. Which is a N/A truck, you you can only guess as to a blown car. Especially one with an eaton style blower from the factory. They are going to be EXTREMELY safe with it. You also have to think it isn't going to take more than 10 miles to get to operating temp.

Plus you have to remember, with the cooling setup it has or any newer car, they get to operating tempurature as fast as they can. I know with my car, it takes a good 10-15 minutes of driving to get it warm enough to use the heater. When it was stock 5 minutes tops. Little stuff like that , including the programming, probably plays a role in that as well.

the original poster was just saying that the car dynoed less then expected so he said it was heat soaked. he was trying to explain the "low numbers", when the numbers he posted are more then likely better then what the car will dyno at most other shops when bone stock.

The motor in the CTS-V is basically the LS9 with a smaller blower. You could probably re-pulley the CTS-V blower to make even more power than the LS9. They are available now with a 6-speed manual.

It makes a lot of hp and tq at the start of the pull then the pcm pulls timing. I see a 40 ft lb tq drop and 35 rwwhp.

Numbers look good to me. I'd rock a CTS-V, but with a manual.

This graph was posted in the Dyno section. 09 CTS-V Auto. Only good for 20hp/30tq? I would have figured more but don't know how conservative the tune is.
