Seatbelts ARE a moving violation, I repeat seatbelts ARE a moving violation in Texas as a driver. It WILL affect your CDL and it WILL count as points. I don't recall how many points, I THINK it is 1. Unfortunately for CDL holders deferred and Driver Safety Course are not options. The seatbelt moving violation came into effect in 2005 or 2007, I will have to look it up. It was around the same time that Texas mandated 1 ton pickups and 18 wheelers to wear seatbelts.

yea my last several yrs i was on the ert team and a hostage neg so my traffic skills are lacking they always change the dang laws back and forth legal now then 2 yrs later its not
