I totally agree with Leo. No one should have to smell the stench of cigarrete smoke in public. If people want to smoke that's their choice, but it should be only outdoors and not inside at the cost of other people's health due to their disgusting habit.

Yup I agree, Most of the bars around this area are already smoke free places and smokers have to go out side if they want to smoke. I really like it a lot better this way. I hate the smell of smoke and I don't want to have to be in a place where everyone is smoking. I could care less how much they raise the price. I dip Copenhagen but only like a can a week the good thing about dip is that it doesn't effect anyone around you.

X2...I have no problem with people smoking. But in a public environment like a bar or restaurant, I'd prefer for them to do it outside. I can deal with walking by a few people smoking, oppose to trying to enjoy my drinks in a cloud of smoke. Plus waking up the next morning after being passed out, having your bed and clothes still smelling like smoke is the worst.....On a different note. Taxes and everything are going up, just a part of life right now. But I'm still eating Roman Noodles and Turkey sandwiches, so I don't feel the crunch

Bullshit.... folks spit on the ground and seeing cups with papertowels in em and grains is an eyesore.

I agree with what some of you have stated. I don't think non smokers should be disturbed with cigarette smoke, but taxing it is not the solution. Raising prices is not the fix. I also believe that weed should be legalized and taxed. Allowing government to increase sin tax, while requiring the companys to market against there own product and fund research is freaking socialism! It is anti-capitalism at its best!

Dude c'mon, he's talking about second hand smoke, it's unavoidable if surrounded by smokers, and it negatively affects your health. There is no such thing as second hand dip. The "dipping" argument is not on the same level as smoking, not even close...

Why shouldn't non-smokers be disturbed by cigarette smoke?? It's bad for there health, disgusting, and makes everything smell bad! You don't find it weird that most smokers actually wish they didn't smoke for those exact reasons and more? Also i dont think that legalizing and taxing weed would do much. People will still grow and sell it. Shwag will become more popular due to the fact that people won't want to pay high dollar for something that's being heavily taxed. People will still have their connections and dealers i think.

not true, go to areas of california where cannabis stores have gone up 300-400% in the last 5 years, no one is buying from the shady *** dealers... what would you rather do, spend money on bud from who knows where that has money directly linked to some drug lord with quality in question (no refunds) or bud that was home grown (read: protecting american business), government grade (read: good ****) and legal? easy decision there

plus, on the price, its actually cheaper in stores because of risk/reward... the taxes are light compared to what you pay for the smuggling and all other illegal mediums it goes through on the way to your bong

back to the original subject: businesses should be able to choose whether they want to be smoking or non and it should be clearly labeled at the entrance... therefore if its a smoking establishment and you dont, go somewhere else... if its non and you do, go outside to smoke or go somewhere else...

**** next time I go into a bar and see somebody smoking who does not drink (very hard to find but I do know a few) I am going to let a little of my crown fall in their soda so they can feel what it is like for me sucking in their god damn smoke. I don't see how people can say it is their right to smoke wherever they want, it directly affects the people around you and their health. Second hand smoke is proven to be worse because it is not filtered!!!!! Suck away on your cancer stick, just don't make me do it too......

They should raise the liquor and alcohol taxes too, BUT they should be able to sell alcohol till Midnight. Or at least sell licenses to special establishments to sell alcohol at a premium price till 4am like London. That 2am last call is such a buzz kill , Im glad for the smoking ban on "public" locals, I hated coming home smelling like smoke and cheap perfume from friendly women lol. Im glad I dont smoke, so many ******* people allways wanna bum off free cigs. I do miss seeing those cool Camel commercials that made me wanna smoke to seem cool. Or more manly like Malboro

I'm not sure about Dallas, but smoking is banned in bars and restaurants Austin and Houston. Smoking will be banned in all public establishments in the state in the near future and it will be an awesome day when that happens. No one is telling smokers that they can't smoke, but if they choose to smoke no one should have to smell it and have their health affected by their choice. Going home from a bar when your hair and clothes reak from smoke sucks.

There is no smoking allowed in bars or restaurants here in Colorado and it's super nice to not have to smell that junk all over you when you leave.

I loved smoking (quite 8-9 years ago) but it is nasty in enclosed spaces.

I remember back in the day when you could be eating a killer steak and some dude would be smoking a cigar at the bar... talk about gross hehe.

I think someone should open up a bar chain called Smokies, and then all the smokers can go there.

This is the funniest thread. I smoke, but I do not smoke in my house. I think there should still be a smoking section, and a non smoking section. They should be seperated as not to bother the non smokers. Then if you choose to enter the smoking section it's your own dumbass fault. Everyone here has a nasty habit in one form or another.

Theres some freakin socialists in here! Tax something more cus its unhealthy?? What if sodas cost $20 a piece and greasy foods got a tax increase? What if a bottle of beer was $100, alcohol not only kills you but causes a shitton of wrecks and deaths every year. Think before you speak guys, you make yourself look like a ignorant socialist when you say things like "tax it cus i dont like it"
