Default moving to houston area, need some advice

hey, i'll be moving to the houston area to attend school in about a year and need some advice on some decent areas to live, things to do ect. I've searched craigslift for apts and it seems like the only thing that pops up is innerloop? Whats that? What are somethings i'll need to look out for, just general advice i guess, thanks fellas

Where are you going to school is the first question? I would say Spring area, Woodlands, Katy would be my choice. Innerloop is like downtown Houston area. Look out for some fast cars when you get here.

What area are you looking to live in? Will you be living in an apartment, home etc..? Houston and the surrounding areas have some really nice places to live and then on the other hand, there are some really bad areas you have to watch out for.

Traffic is horrible so I would for sure try and live close to where you will be attending school.

Let me know the area of Houston you are looking to live in and I will give you some feedback.

My buddy went to SAM (matt510) is his LS1tech name. He had a badass apartment with a garage near the school. Might want to shoot him a PM he would know of a good place to stay.

The zip code is 77055, kinda by 610 and 290 from what the map says.

A lot of the apts in innerloop look to be decent and some have garages. The majority of them are right in my price range too. Whats the average rent in the area?

I don't live too far from SAM (Campbell and I10). There are plenty of decent area's near SAM and plenty of bad areas. You almost need to see it for yourself. You will want a garage so you have a place for your car. Inner Loop isn't bad. I used to live in some apts off of I10 and TC Jester called Stonewood. I don't know how nice they still are, but there were garages and weren't too expensive. I am sure there are other good options too, I am just drawing a blank right now.
