from everything I've heard and seen most full out racers don't use it. I think the main reason is that it was developed to be a Marine oil for the large diesel powerboats and things of that nature. they just decided hey lets make automotive oil...like I said its just my opinion...I've never ran it in anything of mine and prob never will. theres a lot of ppl that don't respect it in the racing/enthusiest world.

RP is nice but for the price just stick to mobil 1 or PP or Syntec

IMO Amsoil is terrible...leave that to the diesel guys.

You have never used Amsoil, yet happily state its terrible. The racer argument has no credit here. You want a racing oil, then use Torco oils, but FYI, it has almost no detergents and will get dirty in a hurry. Then again a racing oil will only be in the "race car" for a single race. Amsoil is well respected on the oil forums, check out bobistheoilguy and do some reading. FWIW, my UOA (used oil analysis) has always comeback good for Amsoil, and I have tried various brands, its a damn tough oil.

I don't see on there site where it allows Castrol Syntec for that promotion?
Could you show me where it does? Because if it is still going on, I am gonna run up and get atleast one 'special' pricing.

Its a 30W oil at operating temp.

I'd rather have a lighter oil on start up to get to the valvetrain quick, and a 30W at operating temp than a syrup on both ends in an engine designed for 5w30. Higher viscosity does not always equal better lubrication. Just my .02.

FYI, the GC 0W30 is a heavier weight than the 10W40 Mobil 1 and 5W30 PP.

Do you have any proof?

X2 on what Greed said.
