Looks good and the interior is nicer than you think, the pics dont make the car look good, see one in person before judging. Another thing Id just pay the extra $$$ for the SS.

Want to make a bet? Start with a V6 premium. Comes in at $23,995 with the standard and $24,990 with the auto. Lets go with the auto because more woman will want that. Right? Choose rapid spec 3 to get it more sporty looking like the Camaro. Plus Ford sells A LOT of these sticker and badge packages. Takes it to $26,835. Add the interior comfort package (all of which are standard on a 2LT Camaro) for $595 and you get $27,430 total. Ill just stop there. A fully loaded V6 Mustang actually comes in around 33k.

Regardless $2k sounds like a lot but in this case its completely worth it. The car will handle better, get better MPG, has more interior room and has more HP. The last one will help sale the V6 model to guys who are trying to convince their wife to get it.

Sorry but if you put the numbers together the only one that the Camaro doesnt beat is the price.

Anyways, complaining about prices is stupid. If you think its too high then you seriously havent been car shopping since you bought your Fbody new. Even then it was a complete rip off for the price. My 2000 Formula stickered at $27k. Ill GLADLY pay the extra $3k to get a better built car almost 10 years later. Hell, GM even is below inflation costs. Either they made a shitload on the 4th gen or are going to lose their *** on the 5th gen.

The sticker on my 2002 Camaro SS was $29k.

The sticker on a similar optioned 2010 SS would be about $37k (just built one). Except now it comes with HIDs, iPod integration, turn by turn nav, more airbags, more HP, better brakes, bigger wheels, better suspension, etc.

$8k for all the new technology and 8 model years later is not very bad at all.

This just sounds like the blind leading the blind. Apparently I can get a fully loaded V6 Mustang for 22K or 33K. I don't care to do the research. I do know that the dealers will probably not let the Camaro go for one cent less than sticker, probably more than sticker. Lets just not compare Mustang prices until someone goes to a Ford dealersip and plays four square with some jack hole sales guy for a V6.

My parents bought my Firebird in 96 for 20K. I bought my WS6 in 01 for 30K. Both from Mamma Gay. So I am kind of shocked at the sticker price, because I thought you could still get a V8 for 30K; the G8. I do know everyone is paying 30K for the V6 Challenger. Right?

Turn by turn is the onstar navigation.

You can still get a V8 2010 SS for $31k. Just dont get all the other stuff added on and itll still be a great car.

Compare it across the market and youll see its quite fair with all the sport car coupes.

Strickland told me that they are marking them up $2,500 on top of MSRP. Any dealers in town not marking them up?

I am going to look at a black SS with stripes today after work that is at a local dealership. They won't let me sit in it as it is already sold but I am going to check it out. The salesman said that this one will be there for a few days until another one shows up, the new owner ok'd that.

hey Lonestar and Munday both stated that 1k on V6's and 2k on V8's.... sounds like Strickland is higher than the others... i am just going to wait for about 16 months and see where we are economy wise and if i am back in the box by then.....

That is the one that I am going to look at. It is still there getting stripes put on and then it will stick around for a few days until another shows up according to Roger. I will be up there in a little while to check it out.

If you were thinking about pre-ordering one but wanted to actually see one in person before buying, come by Lone Star Chevrolet and ask for Jay, he can show you the cars and get you set up with a pre-order.

If you aren't familiar with the area but want to come by and check them out, the address is:

Lone Star Chevrolet
18900 Northwest Freeway
Houston, TX 77065

I was pleasantly surprised by these cars... I absolutely HATED this car before actually seeing one in person. Now I am in love with this car! Pictures do this car absolutely NO justice!

NOTE: YOU CANNOT TEST DRIVE THESE CARS, THEY STILL BELONG TO GM.

[QUOTE=-Ross-;11468558]My friend just paid $26,750 for a brand new fully loaded (minus sunroof) Pontiac G8 GT.
QUOTE]

That number includes TTL and there was no trade in. In other words, the car was barely over 25k.

I like it better than this Comiereoro.

Im gonna go with pretty damn good. Considering a G8 runs in the 12s with a tune and the fact the Camaro is 400lbs lighter it should run pretty damn good.

Faster than a 4th gen for sure.

Ok, I have now contacted 2 local dealerships here in South Houston and figured that I could share their responses with everyone.

Announced markup
Ron Carter: $5,000
Strickland: $2,500
Monument: $5-10k
If you know other spots, post up what they have said.
