After having my black GTP I said never again and am sticking to it. Washed it every week, waxed every third and it would only look good for maybe 4 or 5 days after the waxing. Just too much trouble. Plus I fell in love with white. That is why I have a white Tahoe and Z now!

My rules are
1 Never wash it when the car/trk is hot.
2 Must wash in the shade. Evening time is best.
3 Wash top to bottom and front to back.
4 Keep rinsing the entire vehicle as you wash. Do NOT let it dry at any ponit.
5 wash the wheels.
6 call for the wife to get two absorbers from the garage and ask her to help you dry it fast.
7 After it is dry drive around the block to sling out the water from the cracks and touch it up with the absorber.
8 Repeat this process weekly/every other week like we do.![Barf](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_barf.gif)
9 And this is the final result.![The Pimp](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_pimp.gif)

Here's a tip. After you rinse it, take the nozzle off of the water hose and rinse again. You can make the water sheet off the car and only leave a few drops that need to be wiped off. "Dry your car with water", it's all over the net. Works really well, I've got a black/black/black CTS-V.

Only had 1 black vehicle, lifted Dodge 3500. It was used, washed it once about a month after we got it. Decided it was too much of a hassle and never washed it again in the 3 years I was with my ex wife.

Clay and wax once a week? Thats a ton of work that is most likely unneccesary. Wash it yourself with the 2 bucket method, invest in decent products. A leaf blower helps with water in cracks.
