Is this head fixable?

Its a stg 2.5 5.3L head, unfortunately I think its a boat anchor.

Take it to a reputable machine shop. more than likley it can be fixed

i wouldn't take the chance, i'd buy a new head, esp. if it's a high HP car... just the tiny'est crack can be catastrophic to your motor...

alum. heads can almost always be fixed.Just take them to someone who knows what they are doing.

Get it fixed. I had a piston shatter on a motor 8 years ago and tore up the head. I got it fixed for $40 and it is in use to this day.

Yikes, that is cheap. They rewelded the chamber and machined for $40? Included a new surface for both heads as well? LMAO if someone asked me to do it for that much.

YES it can be fixed... Give Jeff Naiser with NRC a call

I dropped a valve in my SBC and it beat out the seats, I thought my 4k heads were trash. I pulled my motor down at the track so he took the head to his shop and when I picked up the head it looked like a brand new head. You could not even tell which cylinder was damaged.
