What are the symptoms of a bad Fuel pump VS a bad Fuel Filter?

I usually always change a fuel filter, when I buy a car without maintenance records.
I replaced a failed mechanical pump today, that suffered from rolling acceleration problems.Replacing The Pump Cured The Problem.
3 psi Usual Fuel Pressure.
A Pump Can Become Weak And Still Let The Car Run.
I Understand FI Is A Different Animal, but Ive Solved Problems Before With A New Electrical Pump
