The K24 Welder is one of the coolest watches under the $1,000 range, IMHO. I'd love to have one when they first came out at $450, now I think they run $800.

Panerai Luminor Marina

Tyler has an Omega Sea Master.

I would like a new tag or something. My friends have a few Welders. Great watch for the money.

I've got a Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chronograph. I prefer to stay with something no one else has. Everyone has a Rolex and they really don't do much for me accept for a few of the Daytonas. A good website is www.prestigetime.com to get a general idea of what you can get a watch for without paying retail.

thats stupid...

no way in hell id pay over 30 or so bucks for a watch.. they all do the same damn thing.. i never notice the watch someone is wearing... why pay 500 dollars for something when i can get something that looks similar to it and works just as good for 50 bucks or less?

waste of money IMO..

EDIT::: what would you do if you lost one of these watches? http://www.prestigetime.com/item/Vac...0+LIMITED.html
http://www.prestigetime.com/item/DeW....36.m1100.html

most the watches i see on that site for ridiculous prices are ugly anyways..

We definitely have the same taste in watches. IWC designs are simple but classicaly elegant. If I had to list my favorite watch makers it would be these (not in any particular order):

1. Ulysse Nardin
2. Omega
3. Breitling
4. IWC
5. Panerai

These watches are luxury items for people that can afford it. I personally can't, but I do appreciate quality craftsmanship and design. I agree all watches do the same thing but these are also status symbols, like any other luxury item. Please don't be a hater, life is too short.

i understand.. im not hating, just expressing my feelings on the subject! im glad people can afford them, i wish i could.. although i wouldnt be buying that watch!

i dont really buy into the whole "status symbol" thing.. cracks me up when i get on BMW/Lexus/etc etc etc forums and the "better car" argument starts.. if they lose its.... "well the "XXXXX car" is a "status symbol"

like i said, only opinion! and it doesnt matter!

I agree. Unfortunately most of the Breitlings are a little busy for my taste.

Mont Blanc has made some nice pieces as of late as well.

Definitely a lot of good choices out there outside of the basic Rolex / Tag Huer / etc.

I've had a few brands, including Rolex, but prefer my Tag watches. They are automotive inspired designs, and I'm kind of a car type dude.

I have a Monaco chrono (blue, ala Steve McQueen), a red face Formula, and a Link chrono. Will probably pick up a Carrera next. The only two Rolex's that I like are the Yachtmaster and the Daytona. The others are so grandpa it isn't even funny. I had an Oyster Perpetual years ago, it didn't look right on me in my 20s.

Breitling is too big and has too much writing on them for me. I enjoy looking at them, but wouldn't own one unless they come out with a cleaner series. Had a Movado at one time, man those get boring to look at. No detail, just a dot. Yawn. The shiny chrome-like band got me hooked, lol.
