I'll be spectating this year.

Not to hijack, but what would a c5Z with 400rwhp(cam,intake, headers) run? How bout a 500rwhp(stock c5Z, vortech) run?

I would love to make the trip down again. Last March was a blast even though my TT 408 GTO was riddled with problems. I got an email last week about signing up as there were only a few spots left. I just dont think it would be all that much fun in just a head/cam/nitrous car, it would probably only hit 165-170

It was quite funny last year to see that Honda Fit running!

How much power does it take to run 190+. I want try this next spring but I want to put a cage and a parachute mount on the car first (don't trust f-body breaks at high speeds).

If you are asking about bleachers, nope. Just bring a lawn chair and setup anywhere among the 1.5 mile strip. Plenty of places.

You'll need 700-750rwhp to hit 190mph in calm winds. 200mph takes 900-1000 rwhp in an F-Body. Basically, take your 1/4 mile mph trap speed and divide that by .75. That will be pretty close to what your car will run in the mile. You'll need to run 143mph in the 1/4 to break 190mph in the mile.

because they are close to 600rwhp in order to hit 180. Also don't say this ain't true because they ran 180+ last march (Friday and Saturday had a 20mph tail wind straight down the track - only time this has happened in the 5yrs the Texas mile has been going on) See what they ran on Sunday under normal Texas Mile conditions - almost 10+ mph slower.

We're not gonna make it. The LSX shootout is the same weekend, so we are going there to defend our title. I belive that we are gonna rent the air strip for a couple days after the shootout so we can run The twin turbo camaro.

Too bad for you guys. There will be more national and international press at the Texas Mile than the LSX shootout. But it all comes down to what's important to you.

Your chances of winning are probably much better at the LSX shootout so I can understand the choice.
