Yikes.

Last time I went to HRP was a Sunday. We made 3-4 runs at a pretty leisurely pace in just a couple of hours. It was a good time. That's too bad.

anyone want to try and set up a ls1tech day at evadale in a month or so? I think it'd be fun to beat up on some rednecks with their trialered 12 sec big block race cars

This is quite unfortunate.

I race twice a month and was planning on changimg from LMP back to HRP when their sunday races started back up.

There is NO way I will ever race there on a friday night again. The last time I did that I brought my GF and her dad and my dad came. I literally got 2 runs in 4 hours.

Down the road, as in where, the street? Where your **** can still break, gas isn't free and you have to worry about getting arrested which also isn't free? $20 or so to race at the track doesn't sound all that bad. I cant see how a tow bill would be $400, unless you want an 18 wheeler covered car hauler and a police escort.

Come out to HRP this weekend and bracket race with us. 1/8 mile on saturday and 1/4 mile on sunday. Make a couple of tt runs and throw a dial in on it, cut a good light, run your number, go a few rounds and see if you can get your entry fee money back.

Oh yea, they quit doing wednesday's a few years back and sunday's this year. I agree with you on friday nights, it really sucks with all the bling cars out there.

Evadale really is not that bad of a drive and its decent track, but I need a NHRA sanctioned track to get my license passes in at.

Wow just sad! The track needs an owner who really likes drag racing.I remember the track used to open up on Sundays at 4pm... Hmp sucks we need a new 1/4 mile track in Houston.Pretty sad that San Antonio HAS A BETTER RACE TRACK THAN THE BIG H..

Well, I wouldn't say the track owner does not like drag racing. It's an economic decision to try and stay in business. If they're aren't enough people coming to pay expenses, then you need to be smart and cut back. At least they aren't closing the track!

Trust me, I'm not happy about this, either. But, I also wasn't going on Sunday's either (at least in the 100 degree heat!).

Some what true but wouldn't it be better to stay open at a more convenient time to make more money? The good air is coming soon. They could make a killing at this time of year if they run it right. Why be open in in the broad day in 100 degree temp and then closed when they cool air comes back into season.THAT IS BAD MANAGEMENT.But yeah I guess we can all agree we wish the track was open on Sunday night.

If you want to go out there on sunday's, email the GM of the track and let him know. Seth is pretty easy to get along with and if enough of you guys show interest in running on sunday's, maybe he will open up for a few weeks in the fall. Quit bitching about it and do something. It's not going to open by posting on here. He doesn't read LS1tech.com

Thats what the f--k we are complaining about in the first place. Waiting 2 hrs waiting to clear a pos front wheel drive eco car out of the way ,so that real race cars can enjoy them selfs.Out of all the cars in houston thats all the IMPORT rice burners that run 11's ONLY 5 Lol!! Duy your fast but c'mon majority rules. And if you were waiting in line with every one else I'm sure you would agree. They should stick to Westhiemer, I work for a law firm we could use the buiseness. Some fast Hondas out there but not talking about the guys that know what there doing just the other 90 percint..

yeah its still a Honda..but alot of us IMPORT guys started out with a honda!!

my first fast car was a 12.0 second CRX back in 95..

and my buddy that owns a viper and a ferrari still has a 700HP honda in his garage..
my other buddy owns a porsche GT2 and Cayenne GTS still has a 600HP honda in his garage...

SO yeah it maybe a HONDA to some of you guys.. but everyone has to start from somewhere...some choose to run a honda instead of some chevy/ford.....i was one of those ricers back in 95 at HRP getting hated on by a bunch of red necks with my CRX. because i was one of the first imports to be at the track...So i hated it when you guys talk **** about a bunch of HONDAs out there having fun at the track ON A NIGHT THAT WAS DESIGNATED FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!

I dont mind anything fast...but the 16 and 17 sec hondas out there making a fool of themselves....cmon. Granted you have to start somewhere but at least show some initiative and a promise to one day be fast But the same could be said for alot of these trucks out there with one tire fires doing a john force burnout.
