Hey, maybe if Obama's healthcare reform goes through, you'll be covered.

Lol, no. But St. John's isn't bad. I would definitely have it checked out. I've had Boxer's Fracture before, and it looked like that. Also, what part of Webster do you live in?

You need an xray asap, you would be surprised at how quick bones can start healing, although i think you will be fine. 5th metcarpal is the WORST of them to heal incorrectly due to the amount of rom it has compared to the others.

Yeah no health insurance does suck in situations like that. I guess you could always just assume its broke go buy you cast or something... just throwing it out there. Also it doesn't really look broken to me just swollen really bad. Maybe cracked a bone a little bit?

That could be either from swelling, inflammation or a fracture. Since it has been almost a week, most of the edema and pain should have subsided. unless of course if you are constantly manipulating it and stressing it out.

Get an xray

i agree it looks like a boxers fx. i would get it reset before it does grow back wrong. if it does they will have to rebreak it and set it correctly which will be the same pain all over. so GET OFF TECH AND GET YOUR *** TO THE ER!!!

Make sure you get an X-Ray soon, your growth plates are in that part of your hand.

You will get half a cast with the bandage wrap to hold it in place so you can still take it off if you need.
Not all of us are 17... Your growth plates dont matter if your past a certain stage in life, which I am sure the OP is.

Broken hands from anger issues are just part of being a guy.
Thanks Doc!

X-Rays are very expensive. Have you actually ever looked at a medical bill?
