Default Da Bastard WENT BOOM!!!!

So I Picked up a 2000 trans am about 3 years ago it was head and cammed making 410rwhp it lasted me about 3 months and i threw a rod made a hole da size of my fist in the side of the block (and now i have a good coffee table) so i rebuilt the motor went with an ls2 shortblock put my stock ls1heads and an ls6 intake and upgraded the fuel system also went with a moser 12bolt when i broke the traction bar bmr trak pak also installed so it was all good for about a year until i got enough money to upgrade i went tfs225 and a 92mm intake and a plate kit this is where it gets interesting. Well i was at the track and was doing a burnout and i had forgot to dissarm the nitrous system and when the tires hook the engine blew now i have one fist sized hole on each side of my block. Well this was about 4 months ago and i have begun taking the engine apart and this is wat i found.

cracked all the way down to the oil pan

complete piston blew up along with connecting rod

bottom of my head

Drivers side only blew up the piston top

and now this is how she sits just thought i would share my sad story

looks like a textbook nitrous detonation, coulda been worse though. I used to know a guy with more money than brains, he had an engine dyno. one day he decided to see how much dope a junkyard gen 2 350 could handle. made it to a 600 shot (total, he was running out of ways to shoot more) motor made over 800hp. same thing happened to it as did to you but that motor came apart like a hand grenade, few people got hurt, lots of damage to the building and equipment too.

so like he asked, what now? 454 lsx with twin 91's and more gas?

I rolled out to Ft Worth to pick up a crank because i was going to go through the bottom end. I got about 5 miles from the guys house and I had a rod bolt let go when I stuck it in 5th to pass a guy. I had 2 pistons and 1 rod completely disappear, and one rod broke in half. I had 2 baseball sized holes in both sides of my block and oil pan as well. I put my hand inside one of the holes and pulled out what looked like asphalt gravel from the pan. it was bad. the heads were literally the only thing i salvaged....and the covers. Other than that...boat anchor.

Its been 6 years, so I'll have to dig for the pics....and yes the car still hasn't been driven on the road since. Well other than terrorizing the neighbors, and enough to break my spohn torque arm I seem to still mod it even though i don't drive it.
